They could take days/weeks or longer to complete.
The app doesnt impose turn time limits and notifies your opponent when you make your turn, meaning you can play a game of chess that lasts 10 years if you want.
Just like in the old days when you would put your move in the mail and send it on its way, except its 2023 and we all have phones instead of correct postage.
